Pros

Unifirst has a great product and great benefits. There seem to be plenty of opportunity for advancement within the company.

Cons

The senior management at Unifirst is stuck in 1983. They believe the road to success is cold calling 20-30 people a day without any direction or purpose. Unifirst is not as concerned about their salepeople being successful. They are concerned about you being successful using their outdated model of selling. You spend six weeks in a training program learning word tracts and scripts and learn very little about the product or why it is better than the competitors.

Pros

Its an easy job, not difficult or challenging at all. good "cruise" job until you find something worth pursuing.

Cons

No structure, no standards, no long term plans/commitment. Everything is done last minute with MINIMAL budget. They expect maximum results with minimal compensation. Every location threatens union and they should. None of the salary people I met actually wanted to work there, all of them are constantly applying to other positions. Long hours, lots of weekends. They refuse to automate and refuse to increase pay. They are a Bottom Line company. If it doesnt make them money they dont do it. They provide the minimum to customers. Lots of safety issues in the plants. They prey on immigrants, underpay them, make them work in unpleasant environments with no annual raises or increases for inflation. There is little career op unless you live local and get close with mgmt at headquaters. Comp/Benefits are the worst ive seen in 15 yrs of employment. Culture is make the "family" who owns it richer and no values. Very diverse, they only like hiring immagrants and low income families. Cant say much about upper mgmt because you never see them or hear from them. Work life balance doesnt exist. Its work only. be available at all times and treat every task as life or death outcome. I would never recommend this company to anyone. They discuss who do get rid of or how to get rid of people/ positions weekly instead of addressing the problem with a solution. I have never seen a place with such little regard to people.

Pros

RSR check in, growth potential, benefits,

Cons

You can almost call this position "Route Relief Driver". Expectations to cover a route all the time. This isn't a problem, but you are expected to complete all of your management tasks also. You are bombarded with questions as to why you can't get your job done, you say you are on a route, but that isn't an excuse. Hours are 12-13 per day.

Thank you for your feedback. We strongly believe in promoting a team-oriented family environment and it always saddens us whenever any UniFirst Team Partners feel that their experience in our organization was a negative one.
