Pros

Outside sales allows you freedom to make your own schedule to a certain degree. Some management does care about really helping employees and the base salary is decent.

Cons

Commissions and getting new accounts to install and get paid is a long and difficult process. Much more so than getting a sale. Management doesn't really help streamline this. Commission ratios also are quite low for how much revenue you bring with new sales.

Pros

Good benefits and tons of open territories because management keeps running them off. Publicly traded company. They make the outside sales reps sort dirty laundry and work in plant and on the truck to "understand" their business.

Cons

Sales Management lacks tenure in the industry. If you live in Houston - Run! Pay your outside sales representatives quicker than 3 months after writing a sale. Worst commission structure in the industry.

Over the past several years, there has been an increase in the promotion of Sales Leaders to Location Management. In addition, we began a Stevie Award Winning program called Account Management Education, that all Location and Service Managers attend, and learn to apply Sales tactics to increase customer loyalty.
