Pros

Good training as far as knowing the scripts . Equipped with everything you need Descent pay and they offer health insurance

Cons

Average employee last 6-8 months Most of the good reviews are done by people that have just gotten there and haven't realized what's about to happen . Even if your a seasoned sales vet you could easily fail in this job because of the ridiculous expectations. Get ready for the talk month 6!

Pros

UniFirst provides a great foundation for outside sales. The company is known for its sales training program, and because of that no one should have a problem getting a higher level sales position after working here for 1-2 years. Management is supportive and provides everything needed for success. Pay and benefits are a little above average for an entry level sales gig. Fun office environment. All of the managers that I have seen have been promoted from within, so a lot of opportunity for advancement. A lot of rewards and recognition. If you work hard and follow the process, you will be successful. Like any sales job, you get out of it what you put into it.

Cons

Outside sales is not for everyone. There is a lot of cold calling in this industry and a lot of rejection. A lot of people can't handle it. Being on your own throughout the week means you need to be highly self motivated. Where I've seen people fail is lack of drive and motivation to get up and go out in the field without constant supervision. If you're going to be upset if someone hangs up on you or says no to meeting with you, this job might not be for you. If you only want to work exactly 40 hours per week, don't go into sales.

Thank you for your feedback! We are happy to hear your experience with UniFirst was positive and that you had such a fun environment at our Pittsburgh, PA Location. You are right that not everyone can handle the amount of rejection necessary to succeed in Sales. However, those that can, find a very lucrative career awaits them.

Pros

You make your own schedule during the week, meet fun, new customers, and the other sales reps make the job tolerable in the office. The commission earning potential is real.

Cons

The management is poor, employees are constantly quitting, the technology is lacking, the benefits are mediocre, the commission and other PTO can't be explained the same way twice, and although the service is getting better, every installation has issues since everything is such a manual process.
