A LOT of micro-management from sales side (Multiple daily check-ins, standard cold call requirements, and intricate "activity" reports, and more forms to fill out than you could dream of) I was making numbers and hitting metrics and was still getting guff from management about not making more sales (BIG "Never enough" type mindset, at my location at least) Management is VERY interested in getting correct numbers into the database (MS Dynamics), even before making actual sales. They know that they have a lot of turnover in the sales positions so they would rather see updated info than actual sales. Average rep tenure is around 8 months in most markets. They have some PClub style reps and NAC/MAC reps with more tenure (naturally... also used as a recruiting tactic, so watch out) but the majority of the reps are vastly under preforming because of hard-to-attain start-up goals and metrics. HEAVY "process-driven" sales with little exception to the standard prescribed programs. Prepare to dial your life away. WAY TOO MUCH training that's easily overwhelming to most reps (Your selling uniforms and mats, not nuclear reactors). Car/Mileage program needs a lot of help (They don't pay mileage but a "gas card" with a MAX of $150/week is their answer to a guy who averages >500 miles a week). Must be VERY self sufficient, because your not getting a lot of guidance or help in regards to actually getting sales made. Unless you plan on being there for a LONG time (>8 years), you won't see much of anything in the way of a promotion past a sales manager. Culture is non-existent (Show up and do your job. That's all). Everyone else on the floor could care less about what the sales rep is actually doing for the company. Kind of seen as the "joke" of the UniFirst work force. Would not recommend this position unless you have good prior Laundering Service experience.
