- Nicer physical school building compared to previous school districts I have taught at. - Most of the students + families are really invested in education. Coming from my previous experience where I had to really learn how to motivate my students, this was not the case - a majority of the students are very driven and want to excel. - More streamlined/reliable substitute system than the previous district I was at. Anytime I needed to be out sick, I could easily find a substitute that was generally high quality as well unless it was last minute.

Cons

- Little to no support system for teachers. On paper, they did, but in reality, it was very "sink or swim". - Little to no administrative support/low morale, which really affected the school culture as a whole. - Teacher evaluations were not utilized correctly - when in post-evaluation meetings, the administration would even say "You displayed this, but we need to show growth so I'm going to rank you lower on this initial evaluation tool." - Very high expectations placed on student achievement on standardized testing. If your students were not performing at the level administration expected you to be at, a lot of your individual teaching style was stripped from you.
