Stepping stone job
Pros
A job at Unisys is a job. They tend to hire people who are working their way through school or certifications so that they can pay them less. It's great if that's where you are at in life, in fact it's beneficial to them and to you. They offer tuition reimbursement, take advantage of it. It's a tax break to them as well. Another pro: I wasn't asked to work over 40 hours after becoming a salaried employee. That should be the norm though.
Cons
Don't expect a huge pay raise when you graduate or get that cert, expect to find a better job elsewhere. Jobs like those at Unisys are necessary stepping stones to better ones. I am grateful for my experience there and tuition reimbursement, but reality is that it isn't a long-term career maker for most people. Also, when I got a promotion I was only given a % raise and because my previous position was paid a lot less, I was paid less than all others on my team for a while.
