      A Company Run By People With No External Experience

      Pros

      - Exposure to the struggle people go through with healthcare from behind the scenes

      Cons

      - Low Pay - Overwork people at every level (even physicians) - Benefits include "Competitive" clause so you pay more if you end up at ANY hospital facility within 1-2 hours of UHS (Lourdes/Guthrie, Geysinger, Upstate Medical, etc.) - Little to no growth opportunities in title or pay - The bulk of the people that work there have never left this area or worked in any other environment. Because of that, the average experience level is one-sided and excruciating to deal with. - Patients are treated and referred to as "customers" which really takes steam out of the possible job gratification of "helping people"

      Everyone is extremely nice, supportive administration, family-friendly greater area, Epic EMR, great physicians to learn from, new main tower facility is really nice

      Cons

      Johnson City itself is rather run down; a lot of people experience seasonal affective disorder in this area

      UHS has all the right intentions and strives to be a good place for employees and the community.

      Senior Management may have the best of intentions but they are really stuck in their ways.
