Meaningful but complicated work

Pros

UHC is doing meaningful work. I went into this position assuming I would learn a lot but may be working for a big, bad healthcare company. I feel they are very ethnical in terms of benefits to members. They work hard to improve outcomes while saving money to transform the medical community as a whole. I am proud of the work we do and how it impacts others.

Cons

Employees are generally overwhelmed or confused. Many high-level people sit in calls where no one knows what is going on and how things are done. All parties agree to follow-up but then it doesn't happen. It is extremely difficult to find a source of truth for many topics. One person gives one answer, another department tells you something else, nothing is consistent. Optum staff are generally overwhelmed and appear very unhappy in their work with UHC.
