Pros

Great team working through different arcane systems although there is no set process and highly inaccurate master data. The workforce (both union and non-union) puts in 100% although they are never appreciated or motivated.

Cons

Upper and middle management are old boys out of Nalco/Dow and only look out for themselves. Hardly any salary increases or opportunities to grow within the company. A 8% 401K match is given to select employees but not to all. Similarly, bonuses are unevenly distributed at the top with the leftovers given to the many. Supply Chain SIOP along with Inventory optimization initiatives are a farce!! HR department is not developed. Downer's Grove location is a mirage created to fool clients and increase sales..

Pros

- Cheap benefits - Reasonable compensation - Decent for the sake of having a job

Cons

- Systems are from the ice age; makes job 10xs more difficult to manage - Lack of consistency and organization from management - Limited growth opportunities (employees wait 6-7 years for promotions) - Lack of hiring from within - Culture does not value diversity; mgmt only champions their own ideas - Employees are treated like children and constantly micro-managed

Pros

Excellent benefits Competitive salary Bonus that is actually paid out Company is attempting to change, becoming more process-oriented with modern systems

Cons

Company culture has become fairly toxic. Most people are unhappy, and those who are laid off seem to be relieved. BIS (IT) management in particular is very shortsighted, and don't seem to be operating in reality (i.e. don't acknowledge how long it takes and how many resources to deliver major projects). Functional leadership is very political, and the average employee can got caught in the crosshairs. Stay far far away from this company for now, maybe the new CEO will make some positive changes.
