Inpatient State mental health care vs inpatient private industry mental helath care

Pros

State of NC provides many valuable resources for their patients in state psychiatric facilities. Much better than private entities like UHS. When trying to tap into more resources for mental health patients, UHS said "No, you (the facility) didn't make your numbers last year."

Cons

Always mandated to take vacation a during low census which was all the time. Also had to use for holidays as none are paid.

The only positive is the new education created by the 2 in the education department.

Cons

Do not expect your senior leadership to support you. They are clique, toxic, non supportive. No sense of collaboration or inclusion. The Senior director is one of the worst. Hides behind " I will support you" and then is to busy to keep commitments. Yet the expectation is that you do. There is a reason for so many openings and a revolving door. Internal and external. Policy violation one right after the other and fear of bringing it to corporate because that will make it worse.
