Helpful staff on unit, team work. Patient ratios what they should be, ratios higher when short staffed

Cons

Every place has their cons. Short staffed at times, that’s when pt ratios would be higher. Lunch breaks cut short.

Coworkers, helping patients, and UH’s culture.

POOR LEADERSHIP. My manager was very unorganized and did everything last minute. She constantly canceled 1:1’s, wouldn’t show-up for team meetings, and was unavailable for guidance and support. Instead of removing blockers, she made my job 10x harder. I realized very early on that accepting the position was a huge mistake. The pay was also very low and they refused to negotiate. Oh and whenever there is a holiday and the office closes, they take the hours from your PTO bank.

Cons

Management does not care about employees. There is no opportunity for growth or promotion. Immediately gets shut down if you voice your opinion on the matter and management becomes hostile and spiteful.
