Pros

decent pay and benfits, lots of employees with long tenure, friendly staff in branches, strong focus on customer satisfaction and community service. Bank appreciates that it is a small company so does not try to be something it is not by striving to keep up with the larger banks in the area.

Cons

Outdated security and operational procedures and technology. Teller computers ran on 10-year-old windows programs and teller system, meaning they would freeze or run extremely slow. Bank policy is "next-day availability" but everything deposited was available immediately (checks and cash). ATM deposits were available next day (at midnight), no matter the amount. Little guidance for operational integrity, even though the importance of branch audits were stressed. These issues leave the bank open for fraud and then look for a lower level employee to blame when bank losses occur instead of looking at procedural inefficiencies.
