      Lovely office in beautiful surroundings, good benefits and pay

      Cons

      Very old fashioned company which comes from poor and old boys school leadership. What modern company do you know that still hires a chauffer that lives on site?! People in the team were rude, unprofessional and back biting and company says its caring but isn't - you are clock watched and it is frowned upon to work from home. The company spends more time 'caring for the community' then it does its own employees! Some jobs just don't need to exist in some departments and yet others are under resourced. Risk adverse and objectives unclear.

      Pros

      Unum invests a lot into its employees development and well-being. They offer multiple skills training opportunities and subsidized healthy lunches in the cafeteria and wonderful benefits. They've been working to create more rotational opportunities so employees can move around as they want to try new areas and learn new things. The work is stimulating and employees feel valued.

      Cons

      Some departments are spread more thin than others, leading to a stressful work-life in those areas.
