Pros

Work from home full time as I do not live within 30 miles of an office Company bonuses if you meet metrics

Cons

Denied a raise after accepting a new role in April 2024. Denied a raise in March of 2025. Lots of changes and not paying based on the market. More work, high turnover over and just overall stressful. The pay does NOT equal to the stress of the job. It’s not exciting. They do not offer many roles if you can only work remote. Many roles require 3 days a week in the office. That limits my growth. They throw you out to the wolves and expect you to work on over 40 different policies. Denying claims you don’t even feel confident denying. Why charge a benefit and not allow employees to use the benefits that they worked for? So much anxiety and depression from this role. They claim hire internally just honestly, once you’re in claims, they want you to remain in claims. The only way out is to leave. Upper management only cares about themselves. HR is not help at all.

Pros

-Great benefits. -Intensive training and support systems set up. -Hybrid function. - Provided equipment.

Cons

- STD teams are normally overloaded an understaffed. - Depending of the team and region you have you could have different contracts for every claimant to study. -Upper management setting unrealistic expectations for turn around and changing them AGAIN as soon as they are hit. -Though training is intensive, it can be hit or miss and you will likely have tk relearn something because EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING Besides the concrete rules are situational. -You can get very difficult cases and are expected to not let it get to you emotionally. Which can be difficult when you have a terminal claimant and cant approve them.
