Pros

The "lifers" are good people, you want them to be part of your family and friendships...but not as your boss.

Cons

The young talent in the company is great, unfortunately they will leave as soon as they figure out they are wasting their time. If you are looking at a job as a Sr. Manager, forget this place, you will never move up and you will be so frustrated with your managers that you will want to quit every Monday morning. Their Technology is old, like decades old, and because the developers that have been there the longest don't hire anyone smarter than themselves, you can only image the junk they produce. And yes, this is the Long Beach office and well as the Detroit office.

Pros

The benefits are good, the work environment is relaxed (casual dress code, foosball tables, etc.), and the offices are newly remodeled and modern. The CEO seems friendly and invested in his employees and their happiness with their job; he regularly stops by a lunchroom to talk to people. The work day hours are flexible. Working from home when necessary is not a problem. Since I was hired, I've seen the company go through some major changes (including the ousting of a truly inefficient CIO), and things have gotten consistently better. Now the promotion and raise system is firmly scheduled and has open, fair requirements. After a period of bad management where employee turnover was pretty high, the company seems to have gotten better at retaining employees and learning from their previous mistakes. There is lots of room for growth in this company for an employee who is competent at their job and wants to expand their role.

Cons

While company policy is to not overwork it's staff and, when crunch time is absolutely necessary, provide extra vacation days, some managers will try to keep their teams in constant crunch mode. (However, HR is very friendly, competent, and happy to work with employees, including on pushing back against long hours and monitoring situations that are brought to their attention.) If you get bounced from project to project as a pinch hitter, sometimes it falls upon you to make sure promises previous mangers made are actually fulfilled.

Pros

- Most of the employees are great ppl to work with. - The Benefits are pretty good

Cons

- Urban Science started as a consulting company that develops software products to aide with the consulting aspect, but now the executives has switched course and believe the company is a software company albiet with outdated processes. - A few of their software products are horrible but upper management believes everything is dandy. - Pay is below market standards and the annual merit increases are pathetic. -There isnt much room for growth after employees reach a certain position. A lot of favortism goes on in this office. The phrase 'Who you know and not what you know' really applies. Some positions get filled with an formal internal interview process, while others get filled without one. - The company would rather sacrifice employee satisfaction than record yearly revenue growth. - Company rewards great work by giving the employee the worthless 'challenge coin', which can be bought on ebay.
