UTA is a good company to work for.

Pros

Room for career growth, decent college program, not a micromanaging atmosphere (pretty relaxed and not overly stressful), you don't necessarily need a college education to get into management positions.

Cons

Too many managers and you only can get decent pay to have one of those manager titles. The pay is not competitive to other transit agencies. They expect you to devote all your time to the company so you don't have the best work/life balance. Most promotions are more who you know ie, internal, than having better qualifications.

Pros

Good company! Great Executive Board. A lot of opportunity for growth for an educated and experienced individual

Cons

Scheduling and low pay. Under educated and inexperienced managers and supervisors.

We're happy you recognize UTA as a good company. Operations Supervisor pay, as with all pay at UTA, is based on the market. Each year UTA surveys the local and national market to ensure we're paying the correct amount that will attract new employees and retain our seasoned professionals. And you are correct about opportunities for growth, many of our managers and supervisors were promoted from within UTA.

Pros

Good people and a good cause. UTA will be flexible to let you make it to your children's programs and other events as needed, as possible depending on meetings and you'll have to make up your hours.

Cons

You can progress through your career ladder, level I, II, and II but once you reach that there is no upward mobility.
