Pros

Salary pay- option to spread year round.

Cons

Worst district I have worked for. Admin doesn’t trust the teachers and micro manages everything. No lunch breaks, unpaid snow days if you don’t use your own PTO time. Have to find your own coverage for sick days.

Pros

Weekends, summers, holiday breaks off. The job still allows the employee to have somewhat of a ‘police role’ in the building and be a liaison between school administration and law enforcement.

Cons

There are often times when administration will not want appropriate punishment or action taken against students for various things handled by the Security Specialist - this tends to make the employee feel ineffective.
