Pros

Staff generally cares for the wellbeing of patients.

Cons

The company promotes a cult-like culture and expects you to live and breath the company's values on and off the clock. No work life balance. Local "Leadership" does not lead or manage by example. There is no support or positivity from leaders. Favoritism plays a huge role at the Edgewater location, illegal things are often said and swept under the rug. Corporate leaders are very distant and do not communicate enough.

Pros

Good money but not worth the cult-like vibe

Cons

Constant, incessant raving about how they're so unique and special. It's sickening.

Pros

Livable wage, rotating schedule, immediate benefits, employee pet discounts

Cons

I’ll start by saying that everything was as it seemed in the beginning. We got through rough times during the pandemic, being understaffed, and opening a new ER vet in the area. It wasn’t easy, but it was everything I had hoped it would be from my interview. Slowly but surely the veil began to lift and things began to devolve. The culture was the first to tank and after a year it was just like any other hospital you may have worked at. The team was generally unhappy. Constant scheduling issues and call-outs were the regular. Corporate seemed so disconnected with anything that was happening or just didn’t care to investigate further. On top of that, hospital management seemed to always have their hands tied by the corporate entity and couldn’t help the support staff even if they wanted to. VEG kept opening more and more hospitals without caring or realizing that some of their current ones were bleeding out. I kept hoping something would change and that we could get back the culture that we had in the beginning, but it never happened. Now all that’s left is more burned out support staff with nowhere else to go because nowhere else will pay the same.
