Compensation and work enviroment

Pros

Ability to work remotely. Teams generally work well together. Harder when working with other locations.

Cons

Promotions, salaries and bonuses are often based on how well you get along with your manager - not how well you do your job. Salaries are slightly below market. Bonuses are far below market. VHB is really a planning firm, not engineering. Too many cozy HR initiatives. Give us time to get our projects done. Billing hours are high compared to competitors.

Pros

Salary and benefits are good.

Cons

Worst place to work if you are expecting any positive feedback from management. Extremely toxic work culture full of back biting and you will often hear colleagues using “f” word using project meetings. This company is a nightmare for new comers. I will advise everyone to think hundred times before accepting the offer.

Pros

1. They know how to bring in talent (and good co-workers) 2. Ample opportunities to travel 3. Decent flexibility regarding remote/office work 4. They attempt to build community and encourage a good work environment

Cons

1. Compensation is abysmal and they rarely attempt to compete to retain talent/above-average employees 2. Management/senior leadership is hit-or-miss; some are fantastic, some are miserable to be around and/or work for
