      Pretty on the outside....that's it

      Pros

      RNs committed to great care; great doctors; friendly staff; education reimbursement opportunities; self schedule in some areas; pretty nice facility.

      Cons

      Management: some directors are okay (two in particular are outstanding). Bullying behavior is pervasive, starts at the top, towards middle managers and staff. Staffing: other hospitals have the same problem, but here, no end in sight. Unsafe becoming the norm. Parking: ridiculous.

      Pros

      Self schedule. Good team work.

      Cons

      Parking off campus. Not enough shuttle busses. Keep on horrible employees who provide unsafe care. Pay overtime to bad employees who have horrible time management. Rewards said employees with roles like charge nurse and unit council work and does not advance hard working RNs.

      Pros

      Great benefits, particularly health insurance and education. Plenty of opportunity to advance. Friendly environment and good teamwork.

      Cons

      Chronically short-staffed which is a major safety issue. Poor pay, even if you are at the top of the clinical ladder. Pay problems are more evident the longer you stay due to meager annual merit based increases. You will notice you make less than nurses with considerably less experience. Affecting change is about as easy as moving a mountain.
