      Fairly good place to work; management priorities are questionable at times

      Pros

      I generally enjoy working at VHC. Friendly staff. Benefits are very good.

      Cons

      Full time nurses with experience are not awarded on campus parking. A huge negative that is really discouraging. Some staff have more power than their job description includes. Lower pay compared to surrounding hospitals.

      Pros

      Good experience building. Fellowship gets you lots of exposure to patient care and high risk. Excellent nurses and most physicians are a pleasure to work with. Benefits package is 5 star!

      Cons

      LOTS of nurse turnover. 20 RNs left full time in one year. Staffing is usually very tight, overcrowded schedule and not a lot of attention to needs of night shift staffing. The contract you sign when you start is basically up to the administrations discretion and WILL change, retention bonuses non-existent.

      Pros

      Benefits are okay, I love the patients, SOME of the hospital staff is friendly.

      Cons

      Upper management is horrible. You're just a number to this company, They do hiring twice a month, Turn over rate is extremely high, No employee parking (You have to catch a shuttle and parking is an issue), Lack of communicate within the hospital, Hospital is very cliquish so its extremely hard to move up and around without having to kiss a little butt to do so, not so friendly environment.
