Pros
I was very proud to be an RN at VHC. The facility is gorgeous, staff is accountable for their practice, and the work is rewarding. In the OR particularly the staff is very knowledgeable and extend professional courtesy to everyone.
Cons
I left VHC because I made a very low hourly rate as an RN (26 for the first six months, then 28). It made it difficult to afford rent. I also worked during a year when employees were not allowed to take PTO for 60 days during a charting system upgrade, which happened to coincide with the end of my 6 month orientation. I relocated for the job and was not able to visit home for 8 months which was emotionally draining on me. Ultimately this feeling of isolation and stress over low pay led me to feel burnt out and seek alternate employment.
