      okay if you don't mind micro-management & feeling guilty for work/life balance

      Pros

      pay is okay, fun & innovative products, technology and tools are great, helpful collegues

      Cons

      micro-managed, make you feel guilty if you take time off, management team treats the sales staff like children, 9+ hour work days, stressful atmosphere, "Dell-like" atmosphere = micro-managed, commissions are not as fruitful as they used to be, sales floor is like a depressing call center, terrible work/life balance

      Pros

      Great product in a good market, and the acquisition by VMware will fund future R&D endeavors. Good place for first job for kids right out of college.

      Cons

      The founders and management team (if you could actually call then managers) designed an organization ripe to be acquired, which indeed happened. As a result, there is no effort to retain or talented and experienced employees. Were the company to have continued on without being acquired, the employee base would have eventually rebelled to the point of anarchy, which would have caused an company-wide implosion.

      Pros

      Good technology all round. Sales kick off is good.

      Cons

      Politics are rampant, the policies are enforced based on your relationships with upper management. Lies and more lies, it seems the higher you get in the organization, the more people become untruthful. Good luck getting a VMworld pass..lol, you need to either present, work in lab or be on the floor in a booth.
