Pros
Working with very smart people is an absolute pleasure. Things move at a quick pace and results are achieved quickly when all the resources are within your control.
Cons
Extremely nerdy culture - even at a Senior Management level - you are expected to be extremely technical. Misalignment amongst the exec team - the exec team runs their respective functions like general managers, with little communication at the next levels. Outwardly a polite culture, but had started to become very politically charged after 2004 - post EMC aquisition mainly due to the growth - folks started to mark out their territories, and were extremely protective of their space and teams. Some of the collaborative culture went away as a result.
