      big brand. good facilities. off 280. some smart people. opportunity if you know how to navigate.

      Cons

      middle management and senior management are revolving doors. staff spends more time navigating management churn and bracing for change than one would expect in any company.

      Pros

      - Wonderful, well-loved, well-engineered, disruptive technology - Very intelligent coworkers - Reasonably pleasant atmosphere (beer bash on Friday's) - Decent amenities (subsidized gym, free drinks, snacks, decent on-site cafeteria, programs) - Decent hardware for developers - Emphasis on design / planning (sometimes too much) - Great brand name

      Cons

      - Too many layers of engineering management - Managers provide very little guidance/direction day-to-day or even release-to-release - Highly political engineering group, often to the detriment of the organization - Growing dissatisfaction amongst employees - Questionable decisions and acquisitions by senior management - Some lack of leadership/knowledge in non-systems technical disciplines - Culture has disintegrated since IPO and departure of founder

      Pros

      1) Growth creates learning opportunities for those who take the initiatives. There're many people who've moved around different departments / roles several times over the years. Its lacking of process and infrastructure often allow things to get done quickly if you have the guts and creativity. Can be frustrating sometimes however 2) Nice new campus and healthy snacks. Plenty of greens and sunlight. Cafe provides adequate choices. Weekly social gathering 3) Brand recognition. One of the fastest growing company in a hot field. People in the high tech industry in general respect the experience

      Cons

      1) Very incompetent HR. 2) Management by weekly reports at all level. Managers at every level spent hours every week to produce and "roll-up" these fancy weekly essays, then sent to the same long list of managers. Usually receive 15 - 20 of these a week, but often only have time to read headline. 3) Growing politics. People who are competent and who speak truth get frustrated.
