      Pros

      Competitive compensation for the area and industry, benefits are also a step above from most other employers in the area

      Cons

      Poorly managed, business plan seems to be developed as they go versus thinking ahead, no investment in real technology - production lines are very outdated, lastly finance department controls all business decisions which makes necessary improvements very difficult plus they burn vendors which makes completing tasks in a timely manner increasingly difficult.

      Until the management make a real change on how they run the design side of the business, only very desperate engineers should consider working at Valeo in Seymour.

      Pros

      Exterior lighting is actually a technically challenging field. You will be able to see your work on the road, on tv, and in magazines.

      Cons

      Communication is horrible. Engineers can be micromanaged to death. Other times they are given no direction at all. Training on how to actually do your job is minimal if there is any at all. More emphasis is put on perception than actually doing your job well. We are constantly put down instead of built up. Everyday is a new example of how to not do things right.

      Learned more about the automotive production side of business.

      Cons

      Lack of training at all levels. There is no regard for work life balance. No one blinks a eye to employees working 12-14 hour days, daily. Too many bosses to report to. I had 5 people I reported to and none of them had any idea what direction I was getting from the others.
