Low pay for work

Pros

Split days sometimes is nice

Cons

Most days you are TECHNICALLY working from 8ish am(when apartment offices open) until you last employee clocks out (that could be 10-11pm or 6 am following day. Entitled residents can't follow simple rules. There are more rules to driving than what we have and they can not even follow that. Lazy apartment employees do not enforce the policies so it makes it difficult for us to work. It starts with the residents, if they follow simple policies then we don't have to send any reports and trash gets picked up. Then the office does not have to deal with complaints and then we can just do the job with ease and efficiency. At any given time a apartment employee or resident can call you or customer service at any time so that is why you are on the clock all day and night. Its full time for DM's but for service valets are part time so most just call off and do not care since its not their main source of income, benefits, vacation or sick pay. Districts are huge. some have 18 but some have 40 apartment communities that span miles. Imagine having 40 and 5 people call off and it takes at least an hour to do each (Sunday is more) if no one will help the DM is out all night or when you are short staffed you can be out until the next day.

We appreciate you taking the time to provide a review. We value our associates and their feedback and I’m sorry to hear that you have many concerns. Our District Managers have a challenging job and as an organization we take great pride in our culture, which is what truly sets us apart. Part of what makes our culture great is our focus on being better tomorrow. We understand that we have opportunities to improve, and our leadership team is listening and working hard to address some of the challenges faced.

Shady Company

Pros

The only pro is working alone with little supervision.

Cons

So many cons. They pay over the budget when they are short staffed and then when they gain staff they cut pay. My pay was cut over 50%. The app never works and then they blame it on you. They never let you contact upper management when you have an issue with a manager. They allow residents to do whatever they want. They offer incentives for employees to leave 5 star reviews online so that they look better. They have a “facebook” type thing where all the office workers just talk about how great the company is. My spouse has been with them for over 7 years and has helped them when they were short management, and they cut his pay over 400 dollars a month. Beware!

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. I'm sorry to hear that you are not having a positive experience. In regards to your comment on pay, we encourage our associates to have a conversation with their direct manager to understand the budget allocation for each property and how pay is structured. I have to disagree with your comment on not having access to upper management. Our organization is built on servant leadership and any associate can contact and speak with a member of the leadership team. We also leverage our internal communication platform as another vehicle to allow our associates voices to be hear and connect with others in the company. If there's additional specific feedback you would like to share, please reach out to me at antonio.fiorentino@valetliving.com . We appreciate all that you do.
