Pros

Work life balance is great! No micromanagement, create your own team, train them to be the best and always hiring make the job fairly easy compared to other DM positions I have had.

Cons

In the beginning getting grounding is a bit difficult but can turn around quickly with the right leadership and mentality

Pros

Management takes real good care of their employees Management demonstrates concern for employee as a person Great exercise Management emphasizes worker safety Management always made sure I had whatever I needed to do my job Awesome co-workers who were always available to help out when called upon

Cons

Required to work no matter what the weather (rain, sleet, snow, etc) -sometimes it was really cold 🥶 and/or windy 🌪j/k!

Constant turnover means you will collect trash for a good portion of your job

Pros

Good 401k, and good pay rate if you are lucky and find some good part-time employees that can handle the job long term and that is hard to do.

Cons

Split shifts and property managers make you feel like you are never "off" and it is not possible to really take your vacation because other DM's don't want to have to collect trash for you. If your area falls apart its fairly likely they will involve you to figure out collection.
