      Good incentives paid to recruiters( if actually paid) and that is about it,

      Horrible Benefits, Candidate ownership guidelines are out of date and limits the success for new employees in the first 6-12 months, ***WILL NOT PAY OUT RIGHTLY EARNED INCENTIVES IF LET GO OR LEAVE COMPANY BEFORE COMMISSION CHECK IS ISSUED*** Management was terrible at communicating and became despondent towards the end of my time there. I was given almost no opportunity to be successful at VanderHouwen

      Sorry this opportunity didn't work out for you. Our pay, commission plan and benefits are some of the best in the business. As a result, many of our top performers stay with VHA for a very long time. We wish you the best in your future endeavors.

      Great place to work both as a contractor and as a full time employee

      Pros

      I first worked as a contractor through VHA in a technical role. Later, I decided to make a career change and shift into recruiting. As a contractor: -VHA offers health insurance to contractors from day 1 and 401k after a year -VHA throws a christmas party for their contractors since many don't get to participate in one at their place of work -Some of the best people in IT recruitment work here As an employee: -Fun work atmosphere -Great mentorship -Hard work is rewarded -Ideas are listened to -Opportunities abound

      I've worked here for a year and while every job has it's down sides, nothing really worth mentioning here. I've had many jobs in the past 25 years and this is one of my favorites!

      V&A is a great place for contractors.

      Pros

      V&A is my goto shop when I am looking for work as a .NET contractor. Everyone there is very competent and a pleasure to work with. I have had some very negative experiences with other head hunters in the Portland area, but V&A has always been very good to me. They recognize that the contractor is their source of revenue and they treat you as such, other head hunters treat you like a warm body to fill a seat.

      Cons

      The contracts they have to offer are not really "dynamic" or "exciting", but let's face it, contractors are called in to do the dirty work the other employees cannot or are not willing to perform.
