Pros

Vangst is a dynamic startup, where people get out what they put in. I've seen lots of people rise through the ranks and stick around for years. The company office is nice, and in a good location, with flexibility around working. Vangst has survived multiple market downturns, which is more than a lot of companies in the industry can say. Leadership is always pushing to innovate.

Cons

There is some of the disorganization and churn inherent in startup life.

Pros

Vangst is mainly a really good place to work and I enjoyed working with the company . People generally do like working in the company and growth does exist for people if you stay at the company long enough. If you are on the sales or recruiting side of the business there is nobody checking your work or activites daily which is much more relaxed than other staffing companies. Even though it is a hard place to work you learn a ton and meet cool people. Base pay and commission is more than competitors and other staffing companies. The company has unlimited time off too. I mostly was happy during my time at Vangst and hope they do well!

Cons

~There is always a product line getting launched that does not bring in revenue and the money generating people on sales and both recruiting teams are frustrated about this. It seems like the company would rather start something new instead of perfecting it's business lines. ~The product is not strong compared to competitors and there never seemed to be a clear path on how the tech side of the business can create a decent product that is relevant to our clients and candidates. ~The tech team has never helped the company hit revenue goals and they do not seem to be focused about helping with the financial growth of the company. It never seemed fair to fund the product and tech side of the business from sales and recruiting with no appreciation. ~If you don't go to company retreats, the CEO does make it known she does not think you are invested in the company ~The HR Director is not helpful and does not look out for people except for her direct team reports. After the retreat there was rumours of her not supporting the young women who came to her for s*xual h*rassment. Most people knew not to go to her for help. ~The CEO regularly tells people if they are not happy to quit the company on the "All Hands" meetings ~There are clear favorites in the company like everyone said and it is clear who they are (family and friends of the CEO) ~There is no training in any department and there is an expectation to "just hit your goals" without any help from management; The one manager we had was fired suddenly and was never replaced and no support was offered to help the team transition to having no manager. ~The same people got to travel for work and most people do not get to go to tradeshows. ~Goals always felt unattainable and systems change which made it hard to do a diligent job with data integrity ~Layoffs around the holidays and every team is effected and the reason is to "get burn down" - CEO

Pros

Fun working environment. Supportive team members. Set you up for success and growth. Gives you the opportunity to take your career into your own hands. Exciting industry. Woman owned and run. I have worked at some pretty BAD companies before coming to Vangst. The difference in quality of life that one has when finding a job or career that they are actually excited about is life changing. That is what I experienced after I started working here. I can see myself here for a while and am excited to continue to grow in my career here at Vangst. I see the vision and am ready to experience all that Vangst is capable of.

Cons

Wish more people lived in Denver so the office was busier.
