Pros

37.5 hour work week. Never take work home with you.

Cons

Low pay benefits not competitive. Shoves homosexuality down your throat. Simply being acceptive of gay co-workers isn't enough you have to celebrate it. Has lost several lawsuits for discrimination against African Americans. Their Arizona and Valley Forge campuses are also in wealthier parts of town away from affordable housing for the vast majority of employees, expect at least an hour commute.

Run before you get Outsourced

Pros

Vacation time. Retirement account funding. After that there is nothing special. If you just want to punch a clock and turn in mediocre work this is the place for you. Just so long as you do not get outsourced.

Cons

If you need 10 years or more to retire you probably wont see that retirement. Your job will be outsourced to India in a great visionary program called Right Sourcing. People will even tell you that this is going to make Vanguard better. The empire that St. Jack built is sinking. It is no longer an employer of choice or a great place to work.

Pros

It's a job. No mass lay offs. Vacation is there, but hard to use. Punishment when you get back to work is overwhelming work load. Health care is decent, but getting more expensive every year. Don't stay more than 3 years. My advice is to use Vanguard as stepping stone to other opportunities. If you stay to long, you'll get stuck and you will not be appreciated.

Cons

Competencies are set such that anyone's job can be on the line at anytime. Performance Management/ Coaching is designed to manage tenured employees out. Work life balance is horrific for exempt level, despite ample PTO. Measures are far beyond what can be accomplished in a normal work day.
