      Software Engineer Review at Maxar

      Pros

      - Cool use cases, Maxar works with SpaceEx and other satellite and space companies to deliver some incredible products

      Cons

      - You have to work for said satellite team or production team to experience to most exciting part - I was part of a software development team for technologies used by satellites and air vehicles and it sounds fun but my technology stack was terrible. Someone decided to use Java for front end, back end, and the data base. This is extremely questionable and there was no documentation throughout which made this a horrible experience to debug and develop new features within.

      Decent Entry level Position

      Pros

      Pretty good benefits, understandable with time off, not a super stressful work environment.

      Cons

      Pay has to be the biggest con. It’s not very realistic nowadays. It feels like most people cap out at 55-60k despite being there years. It’s also getting harder get promoted and they will leave you doing more work at the same pay.
