Pros

Salary is average with industry. Profit sharing is above average

Cons

Too many politics in the company. Managers and Directors do not support their employees. Definitely a "good old boy" environment. In my situation the manager was very unprofessional, would send inappropriate emails and loudly criticize his employees in a small office where everyone would hear his ranting. Same manager later promoted to Director and still at Veeco, so Veeco must promote this type of behavior.

Pros

Salary is average with the industry Benefits are above average Profit sharing is ok Human Resources department tries to create a family type atmosphere

Cons

Training is inconsistent and almost non-existent A majority of the customers are ex-Veeco employees so for an FSE the working environment is very difficult because most of the customers have more system knowledge than the Veeco employees. Many times the Veeco employee is set up to fail by not having the needed system training and interfacing with a majority of customers who are ex-Veeco employees with a lot of system knowledge.
