Pros

Fast-paced culture; growth opportunities; great colleagues.

Cons

Employees are constantly overworked. Too many “experiments” with team structure led to confusion and frustration.

Pros

There are no good reasons to work for Vendasta unless one is completely desperate for a job and is looking to be stressed out and given no direction.

Cons

Lack of transparency, Actions don't match words, Complete disconnect with their customer needs, Tax write off for investors and executives The CEO is a bold face liar. He makes a huge public display during All Hands presentations about how much they care about providing a quality product for small business owners, when he doesn't have a clue as to what a small business owner needs or wants. He's probably never spoken to a small business owner in his life because he certainly doesn't act like it. There's such a complete disconnect between the Executive Team and the reality of small business that they should be ashamed to even present their products and services to customers. I personally believe that the Executive Team and Board are purposefully trying to tank the business to show losses for tax breaks and personal gains, while sacrificing the integrity of dedicated employees who genuinely care about providing proper service and support to the end users. They don't take the time to educate their customers in any manner and are trying to automate the customer training and service through AI, without actually understanding the needs and wants of their small business owners. They'd rather support large sales volumes without providing support to retain business yet, they'll tell you during their All Hands presentations that retention is one of their top priorities - their actions simply don't match their words.

Avoid This Company

Pros

There really wasn't anything I would consider a "Pro" outside of the people.

Cons

Massive disconnect with management and the lower employees. The only people that are actually valued are the top management and also the reasons for the missed revenue targets. While the company was hiring new employees from India and the main office in Canada, they simultaneously held layoffs that I was part of. I was laid off one week into the pay cycle and only given one week of severance so they could remain cheap. After doing additional research on the company, they seem to have a round of layoffs about every 6 months for cost saving reasons. Unfortunately, Vendasta is a company that fits the stereotypical corporate culture. The problematic managers are kept while the employees that work hard are let go.

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that you were part of a layoff; that is never the direction we want to take. The tech industry landscape is evolving, and unfortunately, we have had to make some difficult decisions recently to adapt and remain competitive. We are committed to navigating these challenges while making thoughtful decisions that align with our commitment to growing the company and keeping our employees' best interests at heart. We are continually striving to improve communication and management practices. We have programs like VLead, our mentorship program, and the Leadership Academy to train our managers and ensure they can support their teams effectively. Your input is important to us, and we will take it into consideration as we strive to create a better work environment for all Vendastians. Thank you for your contributions throughout your time here. Best of luck in the future.
