      Pros

      Everybody is super helpful and almost excited to work. Leasing for the past 6 months or so, no desire to go to a different company

      Cons

      Commissions/bonuses/hourly pay less than what most other companies pay. I guess their thinking is, they have so many other ways to "win" a small amount of extra money each month- you should work for it

It's great reading about your first months with us being a positive experience and are looking forward to years to come with you on the team! While we definitely feel like our culture and employee perks separate us from a lot of other companies in the industry, we also know that fair compensation is a huge part of the overall employee experience. Although we determine pay by looking at industry benchmarks and adjusting accordingly, there are still some times when we might not be offering an amount that is inline with employee expectations. We'll definitely be passing your comments along, but know you don't have to wait until your quarterly evaluation to speak up if you feel like we should be looking a little closer at your specific situation.       Pros

      The BIGGEST pro to me is that my co-workers care for me.... Last month I was moving, and as a single mom I was very stressed out dealing with this alone. With the power of teamwork, secret service skills and true genuine care for me...my co-workers chipped in and hired a cleaning company to come clean my old apartment I was living in! All of this was done secretly and was such a complete surprise to me and nicest act of kindness. It was the nicest thing to do for me at this moment in time, as I was seriously dreading the thought of moving all day just to turn around and clean my old place all night. It was almost as if they tapped into my heart and soul and figured out how they could make my day better (Venterra reference). I was completely shocked by their compassion, concern, care and team effort with pulling it off. I feel so lucky to work with such a great group of people and company, and without a doubt I know they truly care about me. In my opinion, feeling appreciated, respected and loved is very rare to come across in the work field and sometimes let alone in life.

      Cons

      Would love better health care benefits and more competitive compensation.

      Thanks for sharing your review and that AWESOME story! We couldn't have the culture we have at Venterra if it wasn't for amazing people like the ones on your team. Having such a great group of employees also means we've got an obligation to give them the experience they deserve from us, as well. While we strive to do this on the benefits and compensation front by looking at benchmarks and offerings of competitors within the industry, there are definitely times where employee expectations might not necessarily be in line with what we're offering.       Pros

      Everything is a pro! The culture, environment, upper management and incentives are amazing. Corporate really stays involved. There's unlimited income potential even as a leasing agent. Lots of room for growth and they promote from within. Training is A+ too.

      Cons

      Working on Sundays are a downside but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to take with an awesome company.

While hours can vary from location to location, our decision to have most of our communities open with shortened hours on Sunday was definitely one that was made to strike a balance between employee experience and customer experience.
