Pros

I have spent several years with Venterra and they are home, family and my career! Since 2007 I have worked hard and have even received a few promotions along the way. They have strived to make Venterra a better employer and have put in place a few initiatives this year to become an even better company! Just to name a few.. They have hosted several webinars on how to Live better, I participated in several of those (live stress free and 30 day clean eating challenge just to name a few). We were also able to gain quite a few extra holiday hours throughout the year as well! Venterra also looked at compensation and increased several salaries of employees who needed it, without them asking! I have made lifelong relationships and look forward to the years to come!

Cons

We are ever changing.. I would say that sometimes It can become too much at one time, and hard to keep up with it all. If you don't like change, this company is not for you. If you are okay with change for the better, apply today!

Thanks for taking the time to provide a review! It's great to read about your growth with us through the years and are so happy to hear that you've enjoyed our ongoing and recent initiatives to improve the employee experience along the way. You're definitely right about the importance of being adaptable when it comes to change with us. We're always looking for ways to be a leader in the industry, and that means making adjustments along the way! That said, if you ever feel like we have too many happening at once or need to take smaller steps for a big one please be sure to speak up. Your feedback helps make sure we're doing things the way they should be done. Thanks again for your review here!

Pros

Venterra has a great culture and really encourage their employees to set goals and achieve them, for both work and personal life. They have great benefits and they pay is above other companies I see in the area, and I have learned a lot about the industry and have bettered myself with Venterra's policies and procedures.

Cons

Only con is working Sundays.

Thanks for your review! It's great reading that you've seen our striving for a great employee experience in the form of our unique programs and benefits during your time with us and that you've been able to grow as a result! While it is now the norm for our communities to be open most Sundays for the sake of customer experience, we hope changes like birthdays off and our recent increase in the number of days off for holidays has helped to balance things out a bit for you. As always, if you do have any suggestions for us to improve please be sure to speak up! Thank you again for sharing your experiences here.

Pros

Easy to get a job. Perhaps due to their incredibly high employee turn over rate

Cons

They get you at what they are saying is a great company's culture. In reality expect to enslave yourself for below industry's average compensation, while dealing with unreasonable work load at distressed assets they purchase. Both CEO and COO are heavily promoting idea of innovative and open minded company, while remaining the most arrogant people I've met.

As the COO for Venterra Realty, I view one of my primary responsibilities to ensure that all employees who choose to work for Venterra are provided with a great working environment and are treated with the utmost respect and fairness. Because of that, your comments are very disappointing to me. My hope is that no employee in the organization would feel the way you indicate. Understanding that we don’t always get things right the first time, I would like to talk to you about your concerns and understand why your feelings are so different than the vast majority of the employee feedback we receive. A further discussion will give me the opportunity to better understand where things have broken down with your personal situation and attempt to straighten them out. Regarding compensation, we have always strived for our compensation to be comparable with the top companies in our industry. We don’t get this right in every situation, but overall we measure ourselves against industry compensation benchmarks and continue to make adjustments as needed. We also continue to improve the employee experience in non-compensation areas as evidenced in the last year with new initiatives to give all employees a paid day off for their birthday, improving maintenance uniforms, increasing paid time off around holidays and increasing leasing commissions for inside staff. Our long stated goal is that our employees should share in the success achieved by the organization, and we will continue to have that as a key strategic objective. We are far from perfect, but we are trying to continuously improve the employee experience. As such, I would love the opportunity to speak with you as I am sure I could clarify some things from an organization perspective, and I suspect that we could learn a few things from hearing your perspective. I would encourage you to email me or call my cell phone, both of which is available in my internal email signature line. Alternatively, you can arrange a completely anonymous on-line chat through Ethicspoint. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to discuss your concerns further.
