Pros

When you get leases, the commission is great! When it's slow...pay is mediocre to say the least.

Cons

Because you can't punch in or out, there is no reliable way to track your time worked. They have you fill out time sheets, but they expect you to open your office at least 15 minutes early and stay at least 15 late on most days without getting paid for that time. You are only allowed to write in 8 hours instead of 8.5. 30 minutes daily adds up to quite a bit over time. They will sometimes have you go to other properties to "help out" and promise you that they will give you the overtime... but Venterra won't pay the overtime...they will simply put it as straight time on your check. Tell me...how does working up to 110 hours in 2 weeks not justify overtime pay? As an employee, if you want to live on-site, you only get a 20% discount. But, if you work for the property 30 min-1 hour a week as a "Cares Team" employee and wrap some plungers you get 50-75% off your rent. Doesn't make much sense...

Thanks so much for your review. We're sorry to hear that you wouldn't recommend us at this point, and want to make sure that we are doing what we can to turn that around. There can definitely be ups and downs in leasing commissions due to a number of different factors. Unfortunately, some of these can be difficult for us to control, but providing fair hourly pay certainly can be. While some communities do utilize a time clock in order to track hours, this isn't the standard at all of our communities at this point. Regardless of if such a device is in place or not, you should absolutely be being paid for all of your hours worked. Although overtime pay is atypical for our inside staff roles, your hours throughout the week should be balanced to compensate for any additional time you have worked to ensure that you are always being paid appropriately and fairly. If this is not the case please be sure to bring this to the attention of your onsite or regional manager as soon as possible so that we can resolve the issue immediately. Just like you should be compensated fairly for your work done so should our Cares Team! Please be sure to speak up to your Property Manager if you feel like you have a Cares Team in place that isn't doing their part to make your community the best it can be. Thank you again for taking the time to speak up and share your thoughts!

Pros

I enjoy coming to work every day. I love my team and the energy level in our office. Venterra's core values and expectations have raised my personal level of customer service expectations. We are expected to deliver the best customer service and always enhance the customer experience, and as employers, Venterra does the same for us. Venterra promotes a healthy family-work life, and has incentives for people who promote a better way of living. Vacation, personal days, paid holidays, award ceremonies, bonuses and personal recognition from upper management for a job well done are a part of the Venterra culture.

Cons

Compensation does not seem to be as high as other opportunities in the industry, but reasonable and with the other perks, well worth it.

Thanks for taking the time to provide your feedback! We're glad to hear that your values and ours are in line and look forward to you enjoying the match for years to come! While the required scheduling and hours can vary from community to community it's definitely true that our our rapid growth and efforts to improve the organization have elevated demands on everyone's time. While we certainly want to create community hours that best serve our current and future residents it's also important that we are creating schedules that will work for our employees, as well. With this in mind if you feel that we can better create this balance at your community we'd like to encourage you to have this conversation with your Regional Manager. Additionally, we believe that our continued focus on "simplicity" will create an opportunity to give time back to employees by streamlining processes already in place. Thank you so much again for taking the time to share your thoughts!

Pros

They offer very attainable bonus structures, good pay, and outstanding company values.

Cons

They are very concerned about customer service, not realizing that the staff has a family life too. The weekends and late evenings does not allow us to spend as much time with our family as we would like.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! We're pleased to hear that you've been happy with us overall! While we absolutely do put a huge focus on our current and future residents, we also always want to make sure that our employees have a great experience with us, as well. With the goal in mind of having happy and healthy employees we recently launched our Better Living website which encourages you to make your personal life goals a priority and we encourage you to work towards them. We also will be rewarding you and cheering you on in your personal journeys. We've already given away $4,000 in prizes for participation & still have $11,000 to give away this year - just for living better! With the rapid growth and ongoing efforts to improve the organization, there have definitely been elevated demands on everyone’s time. We have been increasingly focused on driving “Simplicity” throughout the organization and believe there is significant opportunity for us to give time back to employees by streamlining internal processes and making it easier to do the work that is necessary. This will be a primary focus for us during the second half of the year. Thank you again for taking the time to provide your feedback!
