Pros

I left Higher Education (student housing) burnt out and have found working at Venterra reenergizing. I found Venterra a breath of fresh air. People are really genuine and caring about the work they do , the residents, and the employees. Some teams have flexible work schedules, which I really appreciate (working from home).

Cons

Sometimes we're a bit cramped for office space, but it's part of the growing process. Everyone is really good about sharing conference spaces and work rooms when needed

Pros

If you’re looking for a company who makes customer and employee satisfaction top priority, fosters an unmatched company culture, and will continuously surpass your expectations: Venterra Realty is the place for you. Here at Venterra, we pride ourselves on the excellent service we provide our residents and we do so by always striving to do the right thing. Successful companies in today’s world must continuously adapt to the wants/needs of both customers and employees, and that is exactly what Venterra Realty has continued to do over the last 20+ years. The future for Venterra is bright - and I’m so glad to be along for the ride.

Cons

Occasionally, new technology/products are introduced a little early before the kinks are worked out. However, Venterra leaders encourage employee feedback and actually reward employees on their ideas/feedback!

Pros

Great culture and team dynamic at most properties Initiatives in place to provide opportunities for additional compensation. Programs that encourage personal and professional growth through Better living and lifelong learning. Decent Medical, Dental and Vision insurance PTO and sick time is above average. Commission for leasing consultants can be lucrative if you put in the work.

Cons

Consideration for senior management opportunities appears to be given to applicants outside the organization. Lower end of salary compensation compared to other companies for the same positions/job titles. The pay doesn't match the work load and level of responsibility Understaffing can be overwhelming at times

While onboarding individuals with fresh perspectives and unique skill sets can help ensure that diverse viewpoints are represented and niche organization needs can be met, we remain dedicated to our Leader Promise to “strive to promote from within.” Personalized development plans in combination with our Educational Assistance Program help us make good on the promise, but we expect to continue increasing the ratio of internal promotions to external hires as we evolve in the years to come. As you mention, providing competitive pay and rewarding team members for strong performance is a must, as well. To that end, we’ve made a few recent changes to compensation structures and encourage candid conversations on this topic at any time, but we’ll absolutely take your feedback into account as we explore new ways to further enhance the experience of our team members.
