Gone downhill

Pros

Most of the people you work with are great. Free food.

Cons

Where do I start? It used to be an awesome place to work, but in the last couple of years it has gone downhill. Management is pretty incompetent and office politics are rampant. Constantly changing deadlines and priorities. Compensation is TBD given the stock grants are frozen. Silent layoffs. Visa sponsorship has stopped for most roles.

Pros

- Salary is not FAANG, but higher than average - Work life balance is ok, but dysfunction takes emotional tool

Cons

- The worst management and org design I've seen in a 20 year career. - Engineering talent and culture is nowhere near Google and other top tier tech companies. - Politics trump technical merits. Bad apples are not dealt with (See bad management) - No product market fit. Everyone is just milking it until money runs out.

A few bad managers gone now

Interesting mission, world class colleagues, Google resources, facilities, food Direction seems better now that a few of the bad managers have left. They forced out some good people.

Cons

Very political environment, it's all about who you know Unfair compensation Not much true diversity of thought Lack senior staff, hires too many with no real industry experience
