Pros

I enjoy my coworkers, who are smart, kind and hard-working people.

Cons

No fertility coverage, less 401k match than at other tech companies, and generally uninspiring/poor leadership at the executive level.

Thank you for leaving your review. We're glad to see that you would recommend Verily to others, and that you see a strong business outlook for Verily ahead. It's also great to see that you like and appreciate your coworkers, which is a common theme we hear here on Glassdoor as well as in company surveys. From a benefits perspective, we have just completed our first standalone Benefits Open Enrollment (apart and different from Google's benefits that we have had for the past several years). As you have seen through the roadshows and Benefits presentations, we are happy to be offering a health plan that is very similar to the previous plan; with respect to some point solutions including fertility we are supporting family planning efforts and IVF through our HMO plan in CA, support for surrogacy and adoption. We also provide time away for prepartum, baby bonding, carer's leave and short-term disability. Thanks again for leaving your review and please reach out to us at verily-PACT@ if you'd like to share more details or information.

Losing Google benefits by end of 2024

Pros

Working with really great people

Cons

- Insane workload - Losing Google benefits by the end of 2024 - 401K match going from best-in-class 50% to a mediocre 3% (for a 6% salary contribution); it's the lowest of any company I've worked for - VLP does not take the regulatory & compliance landscape seriously; did not even care to announce an FDA inspection broadly, and Quality/Compliance topics are never discussed in townhalls If you're applying here, don't be fooled to think you'll be joining a Google company. This is not Google and our current ties to Google will be fully removed by the end of 2024, including all benefits.

Thank you for leaving your review. We're glad to see that you appreciate your colleagues, which is a common theme we hear here on Glassdoor as well as in company surveys. We're sorry to hear that you have a heavy workload, and encourage you to speak to your manager to help prioritize and set realistic expectations for your role. From a benefits perspective, we have just completed our first standalone Benefits Open Enrollment (apart and different from Google's benefits that we have had for the past several years). As you have seen through the roadshows and Benefits presentations, we are happy to be offering a health plan that is very similar to the previous plan from both a coverage and a premiums perspective. From the regulatory and compliance perspective, there were communications shared in the company Slack channel both about preparing for the audit and completing it. And it's a great suggestion to ensure that Quality and Compliance topics are included in company town halls in the future as this is certainly a company focus in support of our company OKR on Regulatory Excellence. We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review and share your feedback. Please reach out to us at verily-PACT@ if you'd like to share more details or information, or suggestions about how we can improve your experience at Verily.

Pros

Potential to improve healthcare across multiple domains.

Cons

Matrix organization means dropped balls and lack of ownership of end-to-end product unless management stays on top of their game.

Thank you for sharing your feedback about Verily. We are glad to see that you are aligned to our purpose of improving healthcare across multiple domains and see it as a positive aspect of our company. We're sorry, however, to hear that you've had a less than positive experience in your work. We know this is a year of high change for all employees through Project Flywheel while also focusing on our product vision and strategy -- and we know at times this can be challenging. We encourage you to share your thoughts and suggestions with your manager and colleagues about ways to improve processes or roles/responsibilities, or feel free to reach out to verily-PACT@ if you'd like to discuss in more detail. Thanks again for leaving your review.
