Pros

This is a place to start a career for people without other options; mostly recently graduates from second tier universities in need of visa sponsorship. The work isn’t really demanding. Most people leave after 2 years or when they find something better.

Cons

Constantly having to react to new “priorities”, as the road map for mode development changes on a whim. Constantly having to pick up work from people who left; no documentation, no explanation, lots of bad legacy code. Crappy benefits. They used to have good insurance and then that got taken away. Meager salaries. The yearly increase is only 2%. No advancement. Promotions are few and far between.

Pros

The stock continues to grow so if you have any stock or options you are in a good position. The market continues to grow for data and analytics

Cons

It is a very bad culture. It is not collaborative. People do not work with each other or generally trust each other. There isn't any diversity. The company strategy is based on acquisitions but they do bad job at integrating the companies. They are very siloed.

Pros

There are some amazingly talented people at Verisk, and some pretty passionate people, too. The benefits were great (not salary, though). The work Verisk does is meaningful, and it was great to feel like the work I did had an impact on the industry.

Cons

Silos everywhere. Corporate central. Working with management was often a stressful experience as they were very distanced from the day-to-day responsibilities of their team. There's a huge disparity in quality of life, work/life balance, and salary depending on your department. In my experiences, there was extremely limited vertical movement possible unless you were friends with senior management, or already part of management.
