Pros

Verizon Wireless does have a good benefit package. They include Medical Dental and Tuition Reimbursement.

Cons

This company needs to do a review of their management. Specifically the lower to middle managment level. This group is so afraid of loosing their jobs that they end up treating the employees very poorly. This company will let you know on the 2nd day on the new job that you're expendable and if you mess up, you will be fired. Not a good way to welcome a new employee. From what I saw, Im not sure the upper Managment in New Jersey has visibility into how the employees are being treated as they are too high up and too far removed.

Pros

Excellent compensation, wonderful benefits, and a decent amount of good people to work amongst. In all honestly Verizon is a fantastic company to be a part of. You don't work a full week, the schedules are easy to follow, and the work is simple. The management is easy going and the products are something you can have faith in. The most amazing part is the 100% benefits in health and a 401k. They take good care of their employees and they compensate well for those that can accomplish the job they need to. I would highly reccomend this employer to anyone.

Cons

Time off is not easy to achieve. Seniority limits a lot of decisions. Communication amongst the company is not something that they are good at. Advertising department and promotions are awful. It's not easy to get a major problem fixed for a customer at any given time. The ordering and customer service system is incomplete and the IT department doesn't work fast enough for the sales reps to get their job done. Promotions are never clear, and the customer always has a problem with the company. Some of us reps believe that the upper upper class management has no care for the actual consumer, the one that ultimately pays the bills.

Pros

Great benefits and a stable workforce with rare job reductions.

Cons

It is very similar to government work where no will take a chance and management is scared to take chances because they are worried about protecting their own position. The company talks alot about 'pay for performance' but that is not appear to be true in the part of the organization I work in. You know you will get your 3 - 4% raise no matter what you do. As an example, we had an employee who would reguarily sleep at their desk and meetings. However, he stuck around for close to 9 years and got the same raise and bonus as did everyone else except for maybe a 1/2% less on annual merit. I know this for a fact because he reported to me for close to 2 years and both my management and HR made it impossible to fire him, eventually left on his own.
