Pros

great benefits, cool office, some nice swag

Cons

My experience at this company was disappointing across multiple dimensions. Leadership lacked professionalism and did not foster a culture of strategic growth or development. There was an overwhelming emphasis on call volume rather than meaningful, consultative sales, making the role feel more like a call center grind than a sales career. They also were shifting this role to be more as a customer service role. Work-life balance was virtually nonexistent, as employees were expected to be on the phone constantly throughout their shifts. Micromanagement was excessive - supervisors monitored calls in real time and frequently messaged during active calls, creating an extremely distracting and stressful environment. In addition, AI tools often interrupted with suggested talking points, further complicating the workflow. For those with a degree or a background in more structured, strategic sales environments, this role may feel like a step backward. Despite my efforts to maintain professionalism, I was discouraged from doing so. My supervisor provided me with some feedback that was both surprising and disheartening as he said that I was "too professional" and "too proper" in my sales consultations. I later found out about his background and made me realize that he was probably having a hard time understanding college level words. Turnover was extremely high, and many team members had limited education/professional experience outside of Verizon retail stores, Costco Verizon sales, or door-to-door sales. The job setup itself was outdated (desktop computers, no flexibility), and the Spanish queue in particular posed challenges. A significant portion of those calls were fraudulent, negatively affecting commission due to chargebacks - something that could take weeks to recover from financially. In summary, I would not recommend this position to individuals with a strong educational background or career ambitions in professional sales or client strategy - not even as a stepping stone. I decided to take on this job as I was told pre employment offer that I could promote within 6 months. During my training, they told me that I would have to wait at least 1 year before I could try going to other positions. Proceed with caution, and be sure it aligns with your goals before committing.

Pros

Awesome benefits, generally good work culture, competitive pay and opportunities to move within the company

Cons

You need to get into management to have a decent chance at moving within the company. Also, the up to a dollar raise per year is bogus. They barely budge on that. Tons of pressure put on sales reps for quotas, especially now.

Pros

Outstanding benefits, decent pay, agile company, and typically thoughtful moves made with employees in mind

Cons

As a Senior Manager, you are asked to work 3 Saturdays, 2 Sundays, and to coach up/out poor sales people by using methods that will get you in trouble and leadership will deny telling you these things. Prepare to be hounded on your days off, asked to be on pointless rally calls when you should be getting your store ready to be open, and be prepared to use shady tactics to avoid tripping the wrong banner which looks bad on reporting. Don’t get me started on the absolute sh-show that is customer service, you are essentially defending yourself from customer service mistakes on a regular basis because these 3rd party workers do not care about customer service experience just as Verizon does not ultimately care about it.
