Conflicting Goals

Pros

Positions that are remote feel convenient and comfortable. Pay is good in areas that pay close to minimum wage for most jobs.

Cons

Conflicting Goals are established as trade secrets and employees can try to do the best for their customers, but if it involves lowering their bill (even if we are upgrading service) Customer Service Reps are punished. I also have to get approval from management to simply remove features at customer request, because the company is so concerned about maintaining funds that management is willing to waste customer time before we can help manage a customer's own plan. System issues are constant, which is ironic for a company meant to focus on network management. They want us to guide customers to use "self-serve" apps, but they often have system issues as well. These system issues will also translate to loss in work hours, because the company refuses to take any responsibility for system issues whether the people that get harmed are employees or customers.

Pros

Tuition assistance, 50% off cell service

Cons

Weak management, use of fear to control employees, high stress. I should have figured something from the beginning. In training i remember them bringing a bunch of leadership in to meet the new hire class. It was like watching an episode of Stepford wives...everyone one said the exact same thing using the same words. They harped on why we don't need a union with our open door policy. I emailed h.r. to ask if i could come by for a few minutes to talk and she said no...u need an appointment. So much for that open door. They lied to me when i asked about the details of the job, and now they keep me running scared with one written warning after the other. Each written lasts six months to a year, which means no raises or bonuses, no transferring out of the department or participating in any events or special projects.
