Pros

Sales enablement, product training, financial support for territory trips, treating customers, many BDR/SDRs (aka Associate Account Executive, Marketing Development Representative), plenty of demo opportunities, highlight wins across the whole org, great for people who are hungry to be promoted to an AE. SLED is crushing it, Corp is okay if you walk into a built-out territory. Hit your first several quarters to be safe for a few more quarters. Easy to play the corporate kiss-ass role if you can stomach it.

Cons

bro culture, clicks (feels like high school all over again), favoritism, internal relationships, junior management (no real training for managers who don't care and understand how to support the team), most managers answer to improving sales are to increase the number of dials and emails as the best way to coach and support their teams, managers openly discuss/share their thoughts about their reps, HR is only there to support the company so don't go to them for support, if you need to whistleblow then don't go through their internal process because you will be targeted, performance-based sales culture and cutthroat (expect reps taking and working deals that should be yours so don't be afraid to go after what's yours), rules of engagement is constantly changing, PIPs performance is as follows: if you're at 60% or less for 2 consecutive quarters then the manager and an HR member is suppose to schedule a formal meeting with you to confirm and set expectations, if rep is 3 consecutive quarters 70% or less then on their fourth quarter they need to hit 80%+ or they will be terminated. Also, they constantly deny unemployment and often do not offer severance. Everything you read online and on Reddit is true.

Pros

Made some lifelong friends here

Cons

I say this with utmost certainty and ask that you go beyond this review to ask others at Verkada if this is accurate: Of a 500 person company, 24 sales reps left in Q4 alone. 12 weeks, 24 reps gone (from the SALES team - who knows if this number increases as we start looking to other departments). If this doesn't make you cringe and rescind your application immediately, I'm not sure what to say to you. I'm writing this review to save at least ONE intelligent person from taking this ridiculous job. I will echo a prior review here that I felt was spot-on. Please read the negative reviews before making a decision to work here. If you're ok with what you read, by all means, go for it! To speak to the ratings I have given: -Verkada does not have company values (although reps have been asking for this for at least 6 months). -Verkada does not have diversity or inclusion (white men only). -Verkada does not have work life balance (12 hour days - mainly cold calling - they blame this on "startup culture" and having to "hustle". I'm here to tell you that if you can blame these outlandish expectations on "startup culture" then you are very, very naive and I am even MORE SO implore you to check out what other "startups" have to offer and how they treat their employees). Lastly, I think I was addicted to checking slack (to update my manager for the 6th time that day that no, my forecast has not changed or yes, I did go to the restroom 4 minutes ago and that is why I'm not at my desk "making dials." My bad). Hope this helps!

Pros

- can expense a lot - met some of the best people - great product

Cons

- toxic / cutthroat culture While I did meet some great people, the culture at Verkada isn't sustainable. Leadership has slowly given up on caring about their employees and is only focusing on expanding and doubling their employee count. Moreover, if you want to go to a company that only talks about "partying and making money" like they are in a fraternity - this place is for you! - pay is sub par They will advertise and sale to their recruits that you can make uncapped commission and over 200K. This is false. The only people that are absolutely killing it and making an extreme amount of money are the individuals that have great territories. However, this won't last long because Verkada is cutting territories and increasing quotas left and right. - insane amount of in office politics 1. Employees that get promoted and given the best territories are individuals that are EXTREMELY well liked or individuals that have become best friends with leadership. 2. The ENTIRE time of COVID, employees were pressured to come into the office. HR would constantly "reassure" employees they were safe to WFH while managers would make them feel bad if they did. I once had a manager tell me that he would not promote me if I did not work in the office.
