Pros

People are kind and care about employees. Very solid ownership that shares goals and progress with ALL employees and gives them a voice to make change. Has a growing footprint in technology innovations.

Cons

Need to work on communication to let people know Vermeer is more than a company that only sells balers. Vermeer mostly sells industrial solutions for managing natural resources and providing infrastructure.

Pros

Good benefits ambitious projects decent pay

Cons

Lack of basic respect for engineering roles from management, especially EEs. Most managers use their position to bully and mock. Way too much childish behavior. When traveling, excessive drinking has become prevalent in the corporate culture. All in all its a lot like being back in high school.

Pros

The work is a bit repetitive on the line. That being said, if you are someone that is willing to do extra things you can learn other jobs by helping others if you finish your work a little early. Managers are mostly easy to work for. Morning and lunch stretching to prevent injuries and the jobs are safe. Employees are usually pleasant to work with and helpful. Vermeer makes several types of machines so there are 7 plants to work at. Employees can apply or bid on any job they post internally. They offer an onsite Pharmacy, Medical Services Building ( for Vermeer employees and their families), & a daycare. Vermeer is a very good place to work I think.

Cons

The hours are usually 9 or 10 hour days throughout the busy parts of the year. Assembly line issues can take a long time to be resolved by engineering. Being heavily invested in LEAN manufacturing they change our work processes too often.
