Pros

Great work/life balance; good benefits; some caring and competent managers and individuals who are nonetheless hampered by toxic 'stab you in the back' culture.

Cons

Old guard middle managers who care more about keeping their do nothing, accomplish nothing, cushy jobs. If you cross any of them by actually trying to do a good job, they will crucify you. They are enabled by a work culture of people who rather talk about their employees than talk to them about how to grow and improve. Some of them don't know how to have constructive conversations about anything so you won't know how to improve and develop because it will be all about the gossip or their opinions. Some people lacking the most common sense (like actually liking people and conducting themselves as mature individuals) actually get promoted to people leadership because of their subject matter expertise. Middle management is running amok and executives are too preoccupied with attempting yet another reorg to pay attention; it's like no one is minding the store.

Pros

-work/life balance -benefits -location -.25 cents drinks -Nice new facilities -education assistance

Cons

-Few opportunities for advancement or training. -Many long tenured employees and leaders who at best seem demotivated and stuck in their ways. Some individuals are active or passive saboteurs without accountability. It's interesting too that long-time employees are rewarded with a "Sabbatical" for putting in their "time" regardless if their contributions are next to nonexistent. -Considered by some as a nice culture, however upon close inspection you realize that the culture condones passive aggressive, unproductive, and dishonest behavior and that's what is referred to as "nice." -Their strategy teams are unfocused, unproductive, and uneducated about the work for which they are responsible. These teams take a long time to make decisions. Often they sponsor smaller teams to do work that would generally take a few months but instead turn into these long running projects that take years. The interesting thing is that by the time the work is done the outcome is shelved because it is no longer relevant. k -Decision making is excruciatingly long.

Pros

Awesome company to work for. Cares very much about its people, works hard to attract good talent and further develop the talent it has internally. Pay and benefits are outstanding. Forward looking company, that is in tune with the market and driving change in the market place. Company is also very stable.

Cons

Leadership and management opportunities - and decisions by leadership and management can sometimes be very much influenced by internal networks of who knows who. People who do not 'network' and hang-out socially with co-workers, and just go to work, do their best job, and go home to their families are very much at a disadvantage. Career development opportunities are not as transparent as they should be, and more needs to be done for employees in terms of career development - training courses, certifications, etc.
