Pros

If you are somebody who obeys the great leader you will eventually have a good position inside the company and get a promotion

Cons

It is not what it was in the past. Lack of meritocracy in many cases, terrible management, especially in EMEA, toxic leadership, bullying and HR does nothing. There are people who just do not work and rely on other people's job. They will tell you they are like a family, RUN. Lack of business vision, slow-paced, lead by the pre-sales team, no business value message. The company has been dying for years, Snowflake, Bigquery and Redshift, Databricks, Dremio... killed Vertica and Vertica did not adapt.

Pros

Brilliant company to work for. Challenging and some really smart and ambitious people. Small organisation, you never feel like a cog in a machine. You can overachieve if you see past the organised mess. You get recognised and compensated for your efforts- great to feel appreciated. Right time for Big Data, so the technology is within the current hype. Some interesting business cases and large accounts. Can be much much bigger with the right investment and bit of stability.

Cons

Process can be frustrating. Post merger teething problem. Work load is too high and Mid-management pull and get pulled in all directions. Many deep technical minded people. Structure is missing but new leadership are doing a fantastic job to seed it in. High targets and high pressure within Sales team.

Pros

Vertica , mostly the team members are gentle and kindly wait for slow performers to catch up. Willing to help always. Really enjoying working this organization. Lots of space to grow.

Cons

Still a niche player in the DW market, Changes in leadership may impact positively or negatively in the near future.
