Pros

The atmosphere and the people of Victoria's Secret are absolutely wonderful. There is very little tension in any of the stores that I have helped out at, my home store as well. The level of comradery and sense of closeness among employees and even the customers makes working here so enjoyable.

Cons

The only con I would say there is would be that there is no store level, nor district level, of loss prevention. The company can lose four times as much return in one day due to theft as opposed to the cost of employing someone for 2-3 months to prevent it.

Pros

Starting salaries are current with industry and locale

Cons

Stunted innovation due to legacy technology. Some areas within the business are not as competitive as others but competition does occur depending on the department. Direction from upper management is not always based on knowledge inasmuch as it is more goal oriented and focused on short-range planning. Many very small decisions require the collaboration of several individuals which therefore requires an inordinate amount of meetings and discussions. The company is well known for the practice of hiring over-qualified people for lower-level positions which contributes to a general sense of dissatisfaction within the ranks.

Pros

My teammates are great. I like all of them as individuals and theyre very collaborative and supportive. The pay is good and the benefors are decent. The DEI initiatives are great.

Cons

The management on my team is atrocious. This place is a great example of just moving high performers into management without caring that many of them have no business managing people. It can be very cliquey, and managers care infinitely more about raising their own profiles than on managing and developing people. The internal transfer process is a joke because of certain managers, and it’s insulting when they use corporate buzzwords and when try to disguise their incessant micromanaging. They need to learn how to actually manage people, and to listen to hear rather than listen to respond.
