Pros

Great place to grow and have as a career.

Cons

Sales persons now make more than the managers because of commission. So if the store does not make goal the managers make nothing but the sales associates still make thousands a month. Huge flaw in the system.

Pros

If you're looking for easy, this isn't the job for you. We are reinventing retail and are all about having a high performance selling culture at all levels. Being a Store Manager for Victoria's Secret is challenging but continually stimulates my thinking and leadership skills. I grow everyday. I never thought I would find a career I love so much!

Cons

Work life balance could be a challenge as a Store Manager, but if you develop your team to be true business owners, this won't be a problem.

Pros

The girls I worked with were nice, at first. The benefits are okay, which when you start is just the 30% L brands discount but clothes are still well-overpriced and you can't use certain coupons. Training was fine, but they left me with 1-2 girls and I could tell they were growing tired of me after a while. There is a hint of growing with the company, but it's a very fickle kind of decision. There are gratis (freebies), but management was kind of reluctant to let you in on it. (If it hadn't been for all the other girls bragging about getting new bras, I honestly would not have known.) Getting hired was surprisingly easy, but it was a pain finding out why.

Cons

Scheduling is a joke. 5 hours one week, 20+ the next. On-calls should be outlawed. We are not doctors and the company has no intentions of paying us as well as one. The store I worked at specifically was an embarrassment: The girls would constantly talk crap about our customers. Sure, some customers were awful, but to gossip about every single person who walked through the door was just annoying. This is on top of the fact that so many people actually like this store and is considered one of the "nicer and friendliest" in the area. This store does not deserve so much praise when behind the scenes they're acting like a bunch of snotty high school girls, the head manager included. And I hate to admit it, but favoritism is very much a thing. You can get away with a lot if everyone, or at least the head manager, likes you. There's a good chance the ones who give this place 5-star reviews are either favorites, management, new, or just freakishly oblivious to terrible working conditions.
